What is Shastra Pratibha Contest (SPC)?

Shastra Pratibha Contest (SPC) is a national science talent search contest organised for the students studying in UAE guided by VIBHA (Vijnana Bharti ~ https://vijnanabharati.org) & Vigyan Prasar ( https://vigyanprasar.gov.in ), an autonomous body under Department of Science & Technology, GOI and in collaboration with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) & National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an institution under the Ministry of Education.

Objectives

To acquaint students with India's rich contributions to the world of science & technology in a traditional & modern format.
To popularize science among students studying in grade V to XII under various educational curriculums.
To identify the bright students through a well-crafted contest & nurture them to pursue career in pure sciences.
To organise field trips to the renowned R&D institutions of India for the Shastra Pratibhas & create conducive platform to interact in person with the renowned scientists, technocrats & academicians.

What are the three categories of the SPC’24? -

SUB-JUNIOR: Grade V to VII
JUNIOR: Grade VIII to X
SENIOR: Grade XI- XII

How many levels of competition are there in the contest?

Level 1 MCQ (Mode of Exam - Online)
Level 2 MCQ (Mode of Exam - Online)
Level 3 Science Camp (Quiz, GD, Viva etc) - Face to face (Venue TBD)

Who can participate in the contest?

Students of grade V to XII studying in UAE following CBSE/ ICSE/ any Indian state curriculum having valid Emirates Identity number.

What’s the syllabus of the contest?

Syllabus is divided into two portions: -

Curriculum followed in the school at the respective grade
Study material prescribed by SIF consisting of the followings: -
- Life story of Dr Swaroop Bhatnagar
- Indian Freedom Struggle & Science
Study material can be downloaded by logging into the dashboard using Username & Password.

Syllabus: -

Science and Mathematics from text books	50% (50 Questions) [1 Mark Each]	NCERT & various State Boards Curriculum as per the grade
Indian Contributions to Science*	20% (20 Questions) [1 Mark Each]	SPC Study Material
Life Story of Dr. Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar**	20% (20 Questions) [1 Mark Each]	SPC Study Material
Logic & Reasoning	10% (10 Questions) [1 Mark Each]	General Reading

Structure of the contest: -

Level 1 & Level 2, the first two levels of the contest, will be conducted through a home based MCQ type online examination via Mobile App & Safe Exam browser.
3^rd Level Advance contest will be off-line viva voce type contest of which details will be made available around at appropriate time.
Mock test will be arranged before 1^st level of contest for a specific period.

How much is fee for the contest?

Students who are selected to Intermediate 2^nd level of contest must pay one-time non-refundable fee of 25/- AED.
Level 1^st of contest is free for all the students. .
Fee can be paid using debit / credit card through the payment gateway within stipulated time.

How to register for the contest?

To register click https://www.sifuae.com/spc. Fill up the form as per instructions. Upon successful registration confirmation email will be received with username & password for log-in to dashboard.

SCHEDULE OF SPC

Level 1 : Online Mode - 9^th November 2024
Level 2 : Online Mode - 6^th December 2024
Level 3 : Face to Face (Venue TBD), 18^th January 2025

16 Sastraprathibha’s will be honored by presenting a medal & “all paid” *educational tour to renowned Scientific & Educational Institutions of India
*All expenses – transport, stay and food will be borne by SIF
Students will receive certificate :
Level 1- Digital Participation Certificate
Level 2- Digital Excellence Certificate
Level 3- Merit Certificate
